The soul of natural materials, the stored knowledge of the earth
My artistic work begins in the deep archives of the earth , long before my hands touch the clay. I work with natural clay sourced from two of Europe's most historically significant clay regions: the Westerwald in Germany and the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. When I touch this clay, I hold the earth's stored knowledge in my hands and shape it into unique objects.
The memory of sound
From a spiritual perspective, every touch, every pressure, and every mood of the creative process is stored in the microscopic structure of the clay tiles. When you look at or touch one of my works, you feel the resonance of an earth that has carried life within it for millions of years.
In my work, I unite these earths in a process that inextricably connects all four elements:
-
Earth: The raw material itself.
-
Water: It makes the earth muddy and malleable, gives it suppleness and metaphorically awakens it to life.
-
Air: It gently removes moisture from the workpiece and gives it initial stability.
-
Fire: The final transformation. At temperatures up to 1250°C, the alchemy takes place that transforms the malleable into eternal stone. Every piece must be completely hollowed out inside to withstand the heat.

Color and energetic resonance
I consciously use the different frequencies of my materials:
-
Classic red clay : Rich in iron (hematite), it symbolizes the glowing power of the Earth's core – a deep, vital grounding from the Italian hills.
-
White clay : Based on pure kaolin, it stands for clarity. The added chamotte – previously fired earth – gives it structure and stability for my artistic vision.
